DIY Nails – Holiday Spirit!

Hey girls! Looking for ideas on some designs for a manicure during the holidays?

Here are some tips on how to paint your nails during different holiday seasons so that you can show off your festive spirit!

These designs are very easy to follow and can be done yourself in about 20 minutes using the right nail art tools and proper nail polish colors! I’ll start out with different designs that can be used for each occasion so that you can show your holiday spirit as well as have a classy manicure to match your outfit  🙂

New Year’s Day

New Year’s Day is all about ringing in the new year, looking forward to new experiences & friends, cherishing new memories, and setting goals & dreams for the future. This day is also a time for fun, joy, & happiness and a time to be spent with your loved ones. Colors that symbolize happiness, peace, and prosperity are red, pink, silver, black, and gold. These colors will look amazing for a  new year manicure with classy designs to match your new years outfit.

I did a simple black & gold design which would go well with any fancy cocktail dress that maybe you would like to wear to a New Year’s Eve Party.

Screen Shot 2016-08-07 at 3.12.20 PMI used Forever 21’s black nail polish for a base coat and did my designs using a glitter gold color to give the nails a sparkling look! For the index and ring fingers, I used a nail striper brush (you can get these brushes in any local store like CVS) to draw a line and paint half the nail with glitter on either side. For the middle and pinky fingers, I just used a dotting tool, dipped it into the gold polish, and just formed like a cross. Let it dry and always apply nails with a Sally Hansen top coat to give it a finishing touch!  These designs are quick and easy to get done before heading out to a party!

Christmas

Christmas as everyone knows is a fun filled holiday that is spent with family & friends. A time to set up the Christmas tree, open presents, and shower all your loved ones with love and affection. Colors that represent this joyous occasion include of course green, gold, red, and white. You can learn how to get these designs done by yourself and would go great with an amazing christmas outfit and matching accessories!

The first Christmas nails is just a really simple nail idea where I used alternating red and green colors and no nails tools were required. I then applied a glitter polish to the green nails to give it a sparkling look. I finished off the nails with a clear top coat and voila! This should look chic with a red or green party dress and classy accessories such as a studded ring 🙂

Christmas nails

This Christmas design was a recent one I did that is simple & stylish and portrays the main colors of the Christmas holiday. It takes some patience but you can get these done in 15 minutes with the right tools so make sure you buy your nail art toolkit first haha! I first used my red nail polish as my base coat and let it dry on each finger. Then I used the nail striper brush to use a white color polish to draw a slight diagonal line half way through the nail. Above the line, I colored it in with gold polish and below the stripe, I used a dotting tool to just apply 4 dots. I then used my striper brush to do draw 4 very little lines to make a star at the bottom right corner of the nail. Finished it off always with a clear top coat and will look fantastic with any red, white, or a black party dress or outfit 🙂

4th of July

4th of July is a very special day for all the citizens of the United States of America since this is the day when USA got their independence! We always represent this holiday with the US flag colors which is red, white, & blue. Many people celebrate this occasion by watching the fireworks or wearing the red, white, and blue colors to represent their patriotism for the country. You can also paint your nails in those colors and draw a flag design to get a patriotic manicure! I’ve posted a picture of my 4th of July nail designs below using just the 3 colors: red, white, and blue.

For the thumb and index finger, I drew the USA flag design using my nail art tools.  For the middle finger and ring fingers, I did a simple design of the colors by  creating a half red & half blue design to give it a more stylish, creative look!. Last but not least, for the pinky finger, I just drew a fireworks design with my white polish using blue as my base coat. Apply a top coat to give it a shiny gloss and these designs would look wonderful to show your 4th of July spirit! 🙂

These are a few of my nail art designs that are unique to each holiday or occasion! Hope you enjoyed my blog post and like my nail designs!  Hope you guys enjoyed my post 🙂

Have final exams coming up so gonna be pretty busy this week but will be done hopefully this Friday!

Until next time,

xoxo
