My First Beauty Product Review – Eyeliners :)

Hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend 🙂 The month of August has been relaxing so far but been hit by the scorching sun and heat wave for the past couple of weeks 😦 Just cannot turn off that air conditioning lol!

Today’s post will be something totally different and new! I will be writing a beauty product review for the very first time, thought I could give it a try 🙂 I wanted to share with you all my ratings and feedback on the different eyeliners that I’ve used for the past year.

As I have mentioned in my blog post The Beauty/Makeup Tag, my go to and must-have beauty product is eyeliner. I don’t wear that much makeup and barely buy beauty products except for eyeliner and a lipstick since I believe those two really accentuate my look and builds my confidence. I just need to have a really good, black bold eyeliner.

I’ve tried four different eyeliners and I always choose black as my color (never tried other colors but I’m always safe with black) so just wanted to share my review on each one of them 🙂 I used to not care too much about the brand or whether it be a drugstore or a high end but after testing and trying out so many of them, I have to say that I  prefer high end eyeliners since it def makes a difference in quality.

1. Maybelline Eye Studio Master Graphic Eyeliner

 

• Pros:

  • Good for applying eyeliner on upper waterline of the eyelid

  • Can be applied easily with the right amount of thickness

  • Drugstore product so cheap – about $8

• Cons:

  • Not pigmented at all

  • Fades easily; gets dry

  • Because of its angled tip, not at all suited for lower waterline

  • Not waterproof

  • Poor quality eyeliner

  • Looks and draws like a marker
  • Only shows with many strokes

• My Rating: 2.5/5….would not recommend buying it; I personally didn’t like this eyeliner

2.  Lancome Artliner Eyeliner – Liquid Eyeliner

 

 

 

• Pros:

  • Good for applying eyeliner on upper and lower waterline

  • Easy application

  • Cute packaging

  • Very pigmented (dark black)

  • Good quality, better than drugstore eyeliner

  • Gives you a smooth line to create the perfect winged eye (precise shaping)

  • Long lasting

  • Does not smudge or smear

  • Really defines the eyes well

• Cons:

  • Does fade over time

  • Not waterproof

  • Expensive ($25-30)

• My Rating: 4/5….would def recommend buying it; I love this eyeliner and is perfect parties, weddings, and fun occasions 🙂

 

3.  Lakme Absolute Shine Line – Liquid Eyeliner

 

• Pros:

  • Good for applying eyeliner on upper and lower waterline of the eyelid

  • Easy to apply

  • Cheap

  • Very pigmented (intense dark black)

  • Does not fade or get dry like the other eyeliners

  • Very good quality

  • Does not smudge

  • Applies well with one stroke

• Cons:

  • Not waterproof

  • Available in India and online; might not be available in many states in the US
  • Inconsistent shaping

• My Rating: 3.5/5….Def would recommend it to people who prefer liquid vs. gel eyeliners

4. Sephora Collection Wink-It Felt Liner

• Pros:

  • Good for applying eyeliner on upper and lower waterline

  • Easy application

  • Very pigmented (dark black)

  • Good quality, better than drugstore eyeliner

  • Gives you a smooth line to create the perfect winged eye (precise shaping)

  • Long lasting

  • Does not smudge or smear

  • Really defines the eyes well

  • Waterproof

  • Does not fade easily

  • Reasonable for price ($14)

• Cons:

  • Does run out if you do not close the cap of the eyeliner properly

• My Rating: 4.5/5….would def recommend buying it; This my absolute fave eyeliner & is perfect parties, weddings, and fun occasions 🙂

 

So to conclude, out of all of these eyeliners that I tried, I have to say that the Sephora collection is my favorite and would def recommend all the ladies to buy this one 🙂
