Traditional Attire: Half-Sari ๐Ÿ’Ÿ South Indian Style๐Ÿ’œ

Hey everyone!

How is everyone’s week going?

Can’t believe its already the end of June. Gosh, time flies! 4th of July is coming up here in the US in a couple of days!

For those of you in the United States, what are your plans for the long weekend?!

Ok, so I know I’ve been slacking on blogging for a bit. I’ve been kinda focusing on my current job and my career which has been occupying my time but def trying to keep up with your posts โค๏ธ

Just wanted to write about another outfit of the day post which I thought you guys might enjoy! This one is a bit different in that I would like to share my outfit which I wore to the temple recently. As some of you don’t know, I’m from the country of India especially the South. I love the Indian culture and wearing the various colorful outfits that portray the beautiful culture. In Southern India especially, sarees are very popular dresses that all Hindu Indian women wear. They are a long garment made of cotton or silk and is draped around the shoulder/waist. There are so many types and different various shades of colors and borders making them very beautiful when any lady from any ethnicity (not just Indian) wears them. This is a simple and short version of a sari so it’s not as long as the real sari, hence that’s why its called a half-sari.

Here is a pic of my look with my pink sari and gold shiny border:

Stitched my blouse with these really pretty flower embroidery giving it a chic look:

Starting off with my first accessory are the earrings which we call Jhumkha’s and I got these from India:

Here is my pink and silver necklace that my Mom bought for me from India! This is the closest I could get to match it with my outfit. Isn’t just gorgeous?!

As all of you know me by now, I adore matching my nails to my outfits so did a very simple dotted nail art:

Those are all my accessories and of course, I used subtle makeup, light pink shade of lipstick by Revlon and a pink Bindi on my forehead as well!

I have a lot more Western as well as Indian style OOTD posts coming up so I really hope you enjoyed this post and liked my outfit and jewllery ๐Ÿ™‚ Let me know below what you guys think ๐Ÿ’—

A travel post coming up in the next few weeks so stay tuned ๐Ÿ˜Š

Until next time,

  10. The best thing about sari’s is it never goes out of fashion and graceful. The hardest part (for me at least) is not to do the robotic walk while wearing one! Haha! You look gorgeous!
