Hello my wonderful blog family!
Hope y’all are having a great start to July so far! It’s been pretty busy for me as I’m actually focusing more on my job and career aspects hence that’s why I wasn’t able to blog as much. I’m really trying hard to catch up with your posts and improve my engagement in the blogosphere 😊
This is past due but wanted to share this travel post with you guys on my blog! So I visited Pittsburgh again after a long time during the Memorial Day weekend which was at the end of May. I was actually born in Pittsburgh but just lived there like for 2 years lol. The last time I went there was like 10 years ago so it def felt amazing to go back after so many years 🙂 I finally got the chance to actually tour around the city for about 2 days.
For those of you who are not aware, Pittsburgh is located in western Pennsylvania and is called the ‘City of Bridges’ as it’s connected by 3 rivers. It’s such a lively and beautiful city with gorgeous landscapes, views and tall skyscrapers. There is a lot of history to this city as it was called the Industrial Capital, famous for Steel back in the early 20th century.
Also, there are such beautiful campuses in Pittsburgh, two of the popular top ranked colleges included Carnegie Mellon and University of Pittsburgh! I got the chance to stroll along the University of Pittsburgh Campus as well as downtown Pittsburgh and my, was it just so lively yet serene!
Hotel
So I went to Pittsburgh via a road trip with my family so it took a solid 4 hrs from DC to Pittsburgh. We stayed at the Wyndham Hotel – Pittsburgh University Center which is the perfect hotel to look around the main attractions in Pittsburgh as it’s located in the center of the city. The Medical Center is like a 2 min walk so very convenient for emergencies. The hotel was good with lovely amenities, free breakfast, and a nice ambience. The hotel staff wasn’t so great as they were a bit rude but overall I would give a 3.8/5 rating for this hotel. Location wise, would def recommend 💙
Attractions
- University of Pittsburgh Campus
Here are some of the pictures that I took of the campus where I was able to go into the largest library of the campus and in Pittsburgh called the Hillman Library. It was one of the tallest buildings I’ve seen on a college campus with 46 levels and had amazing architecture that it actually looked like a European cathedral!
I took the elevator up to the top most level which is the 46th floor and these were spectacular views of the whole entire city! Isn’t it just beautiful?!
2. Downtown Pittsburgh
Took a few pics of the buildings near by which is part of downtown Pittsburgh. The UPMC which is the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is a really popular medical building and top ranked in Pittsburgh. Also took a pic of the hospital that I was born in called the Magee Women’s Hospital!
These are the main spots that I was able to visit on my first day of the weekend! Will show you the rest of the pictures coming up in Part 2 so stay tuned 💜
Hope you guys enjoyed the post and have you visited Pittsburgh before? Let me know in the comments below 💛
