This one is a bit different and its called the Henna Design since these floral designs are used a lot when applying henna or mehendi on the hands. I thought I could try these designs on my nails and I guess it came out pretty well 🙂

This design is also my favorite and came out better than I expected. I actually did this one in the winter since blue and white remind me of the winter season.

DIY Face Masks

Hey everyone!

I’ve put together some DIY Homemade Face masks that would help everyone to have a healthy, glowing, and nourished skin. Especially, these face masks ideas would definitely help those with oily, dry, or acne prone skin and act as very good moisturizers. These are very easy to make and are natural remedies using fruits that would result in beautiful, shiny skin. You can skip the trip to the salon for a facial and try these homemade face masks instead 🙂

Note: Make sure to test a little bit of the homemade facial mask on a small part of your skin and leave it for 24 hours to see if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or not.

DIY Face Masks

  1. Turmeric and Honey Face Mask

Take a dime size drop of just plain yellow Turmeric and mix with another dime size and just apply it all over your face especially the areas where you see acne or dry skin. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water. If you try this face mask everyday, you should see results within 2 weeks for clear and glowing skin. Turmeric is a very healthy herb found in South Asia that can be used as a ingredient for cooking to give many dishes an exotic flavor and is very powerful which can be used to heal many health related problems. Its ingredient is also known as an antioxidant and can also be applied to any parts of the skin as well. Turmeric and honey mixture both have amazing health benefits such as reducing inflammation and lowering risks of diseases such as heart diseases and cancer.

2.  Avocado & Yogurt Face Mask

Take about 1/2 of a peeled avocado and mash it really well in a small bowl so that it becomes a solid green paste.  Mix the avocado paste with 1/2 teaspoon of plain yogurt and honey. Blend all the ingredients really well until it forms a nice mixture. Apply all over face for about 1o minutes and rinse your face gently with lukewarm water. Applying this face mask twice a week should do wonders, leaving a natural dry free skin. This remedy is really good for people who have really sensitive skin especially in the months of the winter season. Avocado is a nice moisturizer and extremely helps to soothe and soften dry skin. It deeply penetrates the skin cells, opening the pores, and cleansing the skin for a healthier face.

3. Coconut Oil & Honey Face Mask

Mix 1 tablespoon of Raw Honey and 1 tablespoon of Coconut Oil (lemon juice is optional) so that the mixture becomes a sticky texture and apply all over the face for about 15-20 minutes. Rinse well with warm water. Use this remedy for everyday for about a month and will do wonders. Coconut oil will really help exfoliate the skin, eliminating the dead skin cells, and leaving the face very smooth and soft. This natural remedy would also brighten up the complexion.

I use coconut oil everyday for my hair and face and it has helped me so much in getting rid of dry skin and hair. My face and hair is much more nourished and healthier. For those of you who have very dry skin, your #1 home remedy suggestion is definitely coconut oil!

4. Oatmeal Facial Mask

If you want a quick last minute homemade facial mask, then the oatmeal facial mask is the one to try! This facial mask should take maximum of half hour and can be done first thing in the morning before taking a shower. This can also be used to brighten your face if you don’t have much time to take a shower before going to school or work. Take a 1/4 cup of oatmeal (Quaker’s or something you like) and add 1/2 cup of normal hot water. Mix it so well so that it becomes a bit of a paste and let it settle for about 2 minutes. Then add 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt, honey and 1 small egg white and mix really well for about 5-7 minutes. After it has become well mushed, apply it all over the face like a facial cleanser and leave it on for 20 minutes. Then rinse with warm water as usual. Your face should be very soft, dry free and you are ready to apply the rest of your makeup. This facial mask is a much better deal than a cleanser which is full of chemical ingredients. This remedy is chemical free and no cost at all 🙂

There are a lot more out there that you will help you get more nourished, beautiful, glowing skin but these are a few that I believe are the good ones. I have a lot of acne and I always used to buy the acne products called Proactiv which I been using for a long time. That acne product does have chemicals and sometimes my acne just keeps coming back. I tend to get blackheads and very dry skin. I used the first remedy once (honey and tumeric) and I saw a huge difference. I stopped using Proactive and used that remedy for months and I had barely any pimples and my skin was just much more brighter and beautiful.

So, I recommend to all of you who have bad skin, or acne to stop using the store products (creams and cleansers) and start using natural ingredients and methods. Hope this would have been helpful for all of you!

DIY Nails – Holiday Spirit

Hey girls! Looking for ideas on some designs for a manicure during the holidays?

Here are some tips on how to paint your nails during different holiday seasons so that you can show off your festive spirit!

These designs are very easy to follow and can be done yourself in about 20 minutes using the right nail art tools and proper nail polish colors! I’ll start out with different designs that can be used for each occasion so that you can show your holiday spirit as well as have a classy manicure to match your outfit  🙂

New Year’s Day

New Year’s Day is all about ringing in the new year, looking forward to new experiences & friends, cherishing new memories, and setting goals & dreams for the future. This day is also a time for fun, joy, & happiness and a time to be spent with your loved ones. Colors that symbolize happiness, peace, and prosperity are red, pink, silver, black, and gold. These colors will look amazing for a  new year manicure with classy designs to match your new years outfit.

I did a simple black & gold design which would go well with any fancy cocktail dress that maybe you would like to wear to a New Year’s Eve Party.

Screen Shot 2016-08-07 at 3.12.20 PMI used Forever 21’s black nail polish for a base coat and did my designs using a glitter gold color to give the nails a sparkling look! For the index and ring fingers, I used a nail striper brush (you can get these brushes in any local store like CVS) to draw a line and paint half the nail with glitter on either side. For the middle and pinky fingers, I just used a dotting tool, dipped it into the gold polish, and just formed like a cross. Let it dry and always apply nails with a Sally Hansen top coat to give it a finishing touch!  These designs are quick and easy to get done before heading out to a party!

Christmas

Christmas as everyone knows is a fun filled holiday that is spent with family & friends. A time to set up the Christmas tree, open presents, and shower all your loved ones with love and affection. Colors that represent this joyous occasion include of course green, gold, red, and white. You can learn how to get these designs done by yourself and would go great with an amazing christmas outfit and matching accessories!

The first Christmas nails is just a really simple nail idea where I used alternating red and green colors and no nails tools were required. I then applied a glitter polish to the green nails to give it a sparkling look. I finished off the nails with a clear top coat and voila! This should look chic with a red or green party dress and classy accessories such as a studded ring 🙂

Christmas nails

This Christmas design was a recent one I did that is simple & stylish and portrays the main colors of the Christmas holiday. It takes some patience but you can get these done in 15 minutes with the right tools so make sure you buy your nail art toolkit first haha! I first used my red nail polish as my base coat and let it dry on each finger. Then I used the nail striper brush to use a white color polish to draw a slight diagonal line half way through the nail. Above the line, I colored it in with gold polish and below the stripe, I used a dotting tool to just apply 4 dots. I then used my striper brush to do draw 4 very little lines to make a star at the bottom right corner of the nail. Finished it off always with a clear top coat and will look fantastic with any red, white, or a black party dress or outfit 🙂

4th of July

4th of July is a very special day for all the citizens of the United States of America since this is the day when USA got their independence! We always represent this holiday with the US flag colors which is red, white, & blue. Many people celebrate this occasion by watching the fireworks or wearing the red, white, and blue colors to represent their patriotism for the country. You can also paint your nails in those colors and draw a flag design to get a patriotic manicure! I’ve posted a picture of my 4th of July nail designs below using just the 3 colors: red, white, and blue.

4th of July nails

For the thumb and index finger, I drew the USA flag design using my nail art tools.  For the middle finger and ring fingers, I did a simple design of the colors by  creating a half red & half blue design to give it a more stylish, creative look!. Last but not least, for the pinky finger, I just drew a fireworks design with my white polish using blue as my base coat. Apply a top coat to give it a shiny gloss and these designs would look wonderful to show your 4th of July spirit! 🙂

These are a few of my nail art designs that are unique to each holiday or occasion! Hope you enjoyed my blog post and like my nail designs! If you are interested, there are more coming up so stay tuned 🙂 Hope you guys enjoyed my post 🙂

Until next time,

xoxo
