Hello blog friends!

Hope you all had a great Easter Weekend! I recently conducted a poll on my Instagram Stories about how you guys are doing during this quarantine and most of you said that everything was going well so I was glad to hear that 🙂 Many of you also gave feedback that you wanted me to post more quotes/tips on my Insta stories so will be posting those often 🙂 Really appreciate the feedback you all have given me. Glad those quotes are making you all feel better and motivated and please don’t hesitate to message me or reach out if you need anyone to talk to 😘⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣Looks like US is getting worse with COVID-19 and is at it’s peak in the next few weeks so I’m def worried but been really praying and keeping myself busy with work and side hustles. I’ve been pretty productive but need a break here and there which has been helping me cope with this situation. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ PLEASE STAY AT HOME AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! We are all in this together but you’ve gotta be patient ❤️ Really hoping this will all be over soon!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

I’ve put together some DIY Homemade Face masks that would help everyone to have a healthy, glowing, and nourished skin and that you can focus on self-care now that you are stuck at home during this lockdown. Especially, these face masks ideas would definitely help those with oily, dry, or acne prone skin and act as very good moisturizers. I’ve had a lot whiteheads and acne and have been using these home remedies which def really help! These are very easy to make and are natural remedies using fruits that would result in beautiful, shiny skin. You can skip the trip to the salon for a facial and try these homemade face masks instead 🙂

Note: Make sure to test a little bit of the homemade facial mask on a small part of your skin and leave it for 24 hours to see if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or not.

DIY Face Masks

  1. Turmeric and Honey Face Mask

Take a dime size drop (1 teaspoon) of just plain yellow Turmeric and mix with 2 teaspoons honey and just apply it all over your face especially the areas where you see acne or dry skin. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water. If you try this face mask everyday, you should see results within 2 weeks for clear and glowing skin. Turmeric is a very healthy herb found in South Asia that can be used as a ingredient for cooking to give many dishes an exotic flavor and is very powerful which can be used to heal many health related problems. Its ingredient is also known as an antioxidant and can also be applied to any parts of the skin as well. Turmeric and honey mixture both have amazing health benefits such as reducing inflammation and lowering risks of diseases such as heart diseases and cancer.

2.  Avocado & Yogurt Face Mask

Screen Shot 2018-03-31 at 7.40.13 PM

Take about 1/2 of a peeled avocado and mash it really well in a small bowl so that it becomes a solid green paste.  Mix the avocado paste with 1/2 teaspoon of plain yogurt and honey. Blend all the ingredients really well until it forms a nice mixture. Apply all over face for about 1o minutes and rinse your face gently with lukewarm water. Applying this face mask twice a week should do wonders, leaving a natural dry free skin. This remedy is really good for people who have really sensitive skin especially in the months of the winter season. Avocado is a nice moisturizer and extremely helps to soothe and soften dry skin. It deeply penetrates the skin cells, opening the pores, and cleansing the skin for a healthier face.

3. Coconut Oil & Honey Face Mask

Mix 1 tablespoon of Raw Honey and 1 tablespoon of Coconut Oil (lemon juice is optional) so that the mixture becomes a sticky texture and apply all over the face for about 15-20 minutes. Rinse well with warm water. Use this remedy for everyday for about a month and will do wonders. Coconut oil will really help exfoliate the skin, eliminating the dead skin cells, and leaving the face very smooth and soft. This natural remedy would also brighten up the complexion.

I use coconut oil everyday for my hair and face and it has helped me so much in getting rid of dry skin and hair. My face and hair is much more nourished and healthier. For those of you who have very dry skin, your #1 home remedy suggestion is definitely coconut oil!

Note: If you have an oily T-zone, then try to avoid using coconut oil everyday as it could clog pores and lead to breakouts

4. Oatmeal Facial Mask

Screen Shot 2018-03-31 at 7.43.54 PM

If you want a quick last minute homemade facial mask, then the oatmeal facial mask is the one to try! This facial mask should take maximum of half hour and can be done first thing in the morning before taking a shower. This can also be used to brighten your face if you don’t have much time to take a shower before going to school or work. Take a 1/4 cup of oatmeal (Quaker’s or something you like) and add 1/2 cup of normal hot water. Mix it so well so that it becomes a bit of a paste and let it settle for about 2 minutes. Then add 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt, honey and 1 small egg white and mix really well for about 5-7 minutes. After it has become well mushed, apply it all over the face like a facial cleanser and leave it on for 20 minutes. Then rinse with warm water as usual. Your face should be very soft, dry free and you are ready to apply the rest of your makeup. This facial mask is a much better deal than a cleanser which is full of chemical ingredients. This remedy is chemical free and no cost at all 🙂

There are a lot more out there that you will help you get more nourished, beautiful, glowing skin but these are a few that I believe are the good ones. I have a lot of acne and I always used to buy the acne products called Proactiv which I been using for a long time. That acne product does have chemicals and sometimes my acne just keeps coming back. I tend to get blackheads and very dry skin. I used the first remedy once (honey and turmeric) and I saw a huge difference.

So, I recommend to all of you who have bad skin, or acne to stop using the store products (creams and cleansers) and start using natural ingredients and methods. Hope this would have been helpful for all of you!

Stay safe and healthy!

Until next time,

xoxo,
